The more I edit the more I learn how to do things such as cropping the frame and dipping the sound at certain points of the song that I added in.
Whilst editing and putting my storyboard into real life, I realised that some things may work better. For instance I filmed some extra scenes of a mid close up of Beth crying, with mascara running down her face. To make this as effective as possible I used an artificial light source. I did state on my mise-en-scene mood board that I did not plan on using any artificial lighting and stick to natural light sources as it fits the codes and conventions of the indie genre and the mood that I am trying to portray. However, once I had experimented with it and tried out different methods of using the light, I thought it would be effective to put flashes of Beth crying that differs from the lighting and colours of the other shots. This will hopefully give my music video more variety and add to the quality of it. I also filmed a minute pass between 7:59 and 8:00 to add in at the very beginning of the music video in order to create a wider range of shots and indicate the timing that it is set in. I set an alarm to remind me to do it in the evening, as the clock is not 24 hour. After setting the camera up and waiting for the minute to pass, I realised that it said PM at the bottom. Therefore I had to zoom in to hide this, but in the end I captured the shot effectively and have added it into what I have edited so far.
